January: African American Appreciation

To start off our Africa week, we learned about two important African Americans: Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rosa Parks. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday was the day before. After our books and discussion, we sang a beautiful song about the two of them and held up their pictures when they were mentioned in the song. We can continue to learn a lot from these courageous, strong people. I am so thankful these girls are growing up in a world with more and more love for ALL human beings.

January: Japan Week

Studying Japan was a fascinating learning experience for the girls! And I loved it too! Some of our activities included: listening to a Japanese lullaby (They closed thier eyes and pretended to be the child sung to. Some of them waved their arms around to the beautiful music.), visiting Japan with The Little Travelers (awesome DVD), making an emaki (Japanese scroll used for storytelling), and making fans used for Kabuki dancing.

January: Mexico Week

Our World Travels & Cultural Appreciation Month was kicked off in Mexico! The girls were really fascinated by Mexico. They couldn't believe that they got to watch a DVD about it during snack time :)! The pinatas turned out great! Here are some pics from our Langston Family Night that ended with our pinata smashing! Hope you all had as much fun as we did!

I had to include this photo of Katie and I. I was wearing the pretty dolphin necklace and earrings she gave me for Christmas. When she walked in the door for preschool, Katie took one look at what I was wearing and immediately told me, "You look so beautiful!" She made my day, for sure. Our photographer was Alyssa!

January: New Year Babies & Kyla's B-day Celebration!

How cute are those New Year babies?! Their resolutions were equally cute. I have to hand the award for longest list of resolutions to Alyssa. I think she could have filled many more of these! How ambitious she is! LOL!

Happy Birthday to Kyla! She was our first preschooler to turn 5! Ashley brought in some darling baby photos, yummo cupcakes, and read us a great story. The girls were mesmorized by Kyla's birthday month Show and Tell. She shared her special Nutcracker Music Box. They loved it.

December: Christmas Fun!

First Pic: We used some Christmas imagination one fun day. In this picture, Ella was Santa and the rest of the girls were the reindeers!

Second Pic: Just a little counting and sorting activity with reindeer cards and cute Kyla.

Christmas Party: We had so much fun preparing our "secret" Christmas presents for our families over a couple of days! I wish I had a line up of the super darling noodle star Christmas ornaments with all their pretty pictures. The girls were beyond proud & thrilled to put the entire present together-from the paint stamp wrapping to the Santa handprint card to the ornament. I will be cherishing mine on my tree forever! PJ Day and candy tree making was a blast too! Life is so much more fun in jammies!

November: How to Eat at the White House

We made Laura Bush's famous hot cocoa after learning all about food preparation and parties at the White House. Their favorite part was seeing a picture of the Queen of England at a special dinner!

November: Giving Thanks

I was tearing up after the girls wrote and painted  their Thankful Poems for their families. These girls make the future look so bright and wonderful! And how cute was their turkey snack?! Loved it, Ashley!!! Hopefully their Thanksgiving Story Bracelets made Thanksgiving a little more real to them too!

November: Field Trip to Safeway

Our Cooking Month was enhanced by our Safeway Field Trip. Shopping is a whole new experience after seeing what goes on behind the scenes!

November: Chocolate Day!

We learned all about chocolate in a fascinating book and made chocolate pudding for snack! The girls LOVED using a hand mixer!

November: Fall Leaf Rubbings

November: Little Italian Chefs!

We had so much fun during our cooking month! After watching some amazing youtube videos of pizza dough tricks, we made our own bagel pizzas for snack. I took Peyton's picture of her eating her pizza, it made everyone laugh, and hence, all the pictures of each girl eating their pizza! They were giggling in in each individual picture!
